The hotel is actually in the Kyoto Station building, so once you have arrived in Kyoto, you don’t have to worry about finding your way to your hotel. You are already there! This also puts you in the enviable position of being perfectly placed to explore Kyoto and beyond. Just a short walk from the hotel lobby are rail lines that can take you to iconic areas of Kyoto like Arashiyama or Uji in under 20 minutes, or Nijo Castle or Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine in just 5 minutes.

The Karasuma Subway beneath the station can whisk you into central Kyoto in just 5 minutes too, and if you want to visit other famous sites such as Kinkakuji Temple (The Golden Pavilion), or Kiyomizu-dera Temple, there is a bus station and taxi rank, right outside your door. For onward travel too, you will have ready access to train lines for Osaka, Tokyo, Nagoya, Hiroshima, and Kansai International Airport.

In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, there are plentiful shopping opportunities. For fashion, food and souvenirs, head across the station building to JR Kyoto Isetan and the shops and restaurants in the Kyoto Station Building. The historic temples of Toji, Higashi Honganji and Nishi Honganji are also within walking distance, as are more modern attractions such as Kyoto Tower and Umekoji Koen Park with its aquarium and railway museum. There is also an art gallery and theater within the station building.

Within the Granvia Hotel itself you have a broad range of restaurant and bar options, including All Day Dining LE TEMPS, View & Dining Cotociel on the 15th floor, Japanese, Chinese, teppanyaki, kaiseki and tempura restaurants, private dining, a lobby lounge, a main bar and a pastry and bakery shop. Room service is available from 6:00 to 24:00.

The hotel complex also includes a pastry and bakery shop, a hotel shop for Kyoto gifts and original goods, a jewelry shop, an accessories and apparel boutique, eye-care shops, clinic and health services, beauty and relaxation services, and a pool and fitness area. The pool and fitness area includes a 20-meter pool, jacuzzi, warming room and fitness machines, and is for guests aged 18 and over.

And if that isn’t enough for you to choose from, you also have immediate access to the plentiful dining, shopping and entertainment facilities within the Kyoto Station building too!

Other services

The concierge desk on the 2nd floor lobby can help guests with seasonal sightseeing information and other trip questions. Hotel Granvia Kyoto also introduces experience programs through its concierge, including special guided tours focused on Okazaki, Gion and Fushimi Inari. Reservations and inquiries are handled by phone or email through the concierge.

The hotel is also set up for business meetings, weddings and events. Its banquet and meeting facilities include large, medium and small halls, with the largest hall measuring 1,200 sq m and accommodating up to 1,400 guests. Event logistics can include large equipment delivery, a freight lift, and sound and lighting equipment for meetings, exhibitions and other events.
