Hotel Hokke Club Kyoto

Hotel Hokke Club Kyoto is a well situated, inexpensive business hotel with clean, comfortable, good sized rooms and excellent facilities. This hotel is located directly across from the north central exit of Kyoto Station on the opposite side of the bus station.

This hotel is very convenient for shopping and dining in nearby Yodobashi Camera. Nearby tourist sites include Higashi Honganji Temple which is about ten minutes walk away, and Kyoto Tower which is about 2 minutes walk from the hotel exit.

Guest Rooms

This hotel has single rooms, double rooms, and twin rooms available, however one notable feature is that even the single rooms have double beds. All guest rooms come supplied with an air conditioner, free Wi-Fi and LAN internet connections, a telephone, a refrigerator, an LCD TV with free satellite channels plus some pay per view channels, an electric kettle and a tea making set. Japanese style night wear is supplied and all beds are fitted with world famous Simmonds brand bedding and luxuriously soft down duvets. In the bathroom you will find a bathtub and shower, a hairdryer and a complete set of complimentary toiletries. As this is a business hotel, the rooms are all very well lit, so that you can continue to work or read in your room without straining your eyes. You can book smoking or non-smoking rooms according to your need.

There are also Ladies’ Single Rooms for the exclusive use of female guests. These have some special amenities such as memory foam pillows, ion facial steamers and foot massage machines. The Ladies’ Single Room bathroom is supplied with a Nanocare Ionic hair dryer and POLA brand shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and skincare items.

The hotel also has some items you can borrow such as an iron, a desk lamp and battery charger. Laptops can be rented from the front desk for 1000 yen a night. In-room massages are also available for a fee. A 40 minute standard massage costs 4000 yen, and a 60 minute aroma massage costs 13000 yen.

Dining

The first floor of the Hotel Hokke Club building has a restaurant and a café. The restaurant is called Irohakaruta and serves mainly Japanese style dishes. Breakfast is served here from 7:00 till 10:00 with last orders at 9:30 and costs 1080 yen. A typical breakfast set consists of salmon, egg, pickles, miso soup and rice with some vegetable side dishes. If you want to start your day with a healthy Japanese style breakfast, then this is the place to come! In the evening the restaurant reopens from 17:00 till 23:00 and then serves typical Japanese izakaya pub style fare. It’s a cheerful, cheap and convenient location for a few drinks and a tasty bite to eat.

The Ogawa Kissa coffee shop, also on the first floor, is open from 7:00 till 22:00 and serves light meals such as egg and toast, sandwiches, roll cakes and of course very good coffee.

Other Facilities

Staff at this hotel have an excellent reputation for their friendly and courteous service and some of them can speak English. You can ask at the front desk for staff to order a taxi that will wait for you outside the hotel exit. The front desk also has a delivery service if you wish to send packages ahead.

Drinks vending machines and an ice making machine can be found in the 2nd floor lobby.

There is a computer corner on the 2nd floor with two computers and a printer that are free to use for all hotel guests. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and there a LAN cables and connections in every guest room.

There is a coin operated laundromat on the 4th floor. Washing machines cost 300 yen for a 40 minute cycle which includes the washing detergent which is automatically added by the machine. Dryers cost 100 yen for a 20 minute cycle.

The hotel has a conference room which can be rented for business, academic or club meetings, exhibitions or classes. This is supplied with desks, tables, a white board and audio-visual equipment.
