Rihga Royal Hotel is a comfortable mid-range hotel with excellent services and facilities which is located within walking distance of Kyoto Station. This hotel has a wide range of guest rooms suitable for business travelers, tourists, and families. The hotel was completely renovated in 2016.

All rooms come with air conditioning, a humidifying air purifier, free Wi-Fi and wired internet access, an LCD TV with satellite channels, a refrigerator, an electric kettle, an in-room safe, a hairdryer, nightwear or yukata, and slippers. Bathroom amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, razors, shaving gel, cotton puffs, cotton swabs, towels, and other floor-dependent amenities such as bath fragrance or bathrobes.

Room service is available with a partial menu, and the hotel says reception and collection times follow All Day Dining Kaza’s business hours. Laundry facilities include a 13th-floor laundry corner open from 8:00 to 23:00, with last admission at 21:00, and a paid cleaning service with same-day and next-day options on most days.

Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto has a broad range of restaurants and bars, including All Day Dining Kaza, French Dining Top of Kyoto, Teppan-yaki Aoi, French Kaiseki-style Cuisine Gourmand Tachibana, Chinese Restaurant Royal Ryuho, Tankuma Kitamise, Bar Granada, and Lounge. The 14th floor French restaurant, Top of Kyoto, is described by the hotel as Japan’s only revolving observation French restaurant.

Breakfast options include the 1st-floor All Day Dining Kaza, the 14th-floor French Dining Top of Kyoto, and room service.

A buffet breakfast with both Western and Japanese dishes is served at Kaza from 6:30 to 10:00, with last order at 9:30. The adult breakfast price is 4,301 yen.

Top of Kyoto serves breakfast from 7:30 to 10:00, with last order at 9:30. The breakfast price here is also 4,301 yen.

Services and Facilities

This hotel has a concierge service with multilingual staff who can advise you on local events, tours, itineraries and help with restaurant and taxi bookings.

There is a 24-hour business center on the 1st floor with a foreign-exchange machine, computers, and multifunction printers. Computer use is charged at 100 yen per 10 minutes, and copy charges are listed separately.

There is a souvenir shop on the 1st floor which features a range of traditional Kyoto goods, pickles, and confectionery.

The 1st-floor fitness area has an indoor pool and fitness gym for staying guests and club members. Hours are 8:00-11:00 and 13:30-21:00, with final reception at 19:00, and use is limited to two hours. The facility entrance fee is 3,300 yen for adults and 1,650 yen for children aged 3-12, with children permitted for pool use only. Parking is available on site, with 117 spaces.

Access

Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto is located about 7 minutes on foot from JR Kyoto Station’s Central Exit. There is also a free shuttle bus between the hotel and Kyoto Station’s Hachijo Exit. The shuttle takes about 5 minutes and operates daily from 9:10 to 19:10 from Kyoto Station and from 9:00 to 19:00 from the hotel, at 20-minute intervals. Times may vary with traffic and weather.
