Newly opened on December 1st 2018, Hotel Keihan Kyoto Hachijoguchi is a five-story mid-range hotel with 234 guest rooms. The hotel facilities include a large public bathing area, a restaurant, and a laundry. The hotel’s multilingual staff provide a warm welcome and can give plenty of advice on local sightseeing.
Hotel Keihan Kyoto Hachijoguchi is located a short walk from the south side of Kyoto Station and is also close to Kujo Station on the Karasuma Subway Line. With immediate access to the local transportation network this is a very convenient location for those traveling for either business or sightseeing.
Guest rooms are clean, modern, simply furnished but comfortable and decorated with motifs suggestive of traditional Kyoto townhouses. A variety of rooms are available with single, double or twin beds. Beds are fitted with Simmons brand pocket coil mattresses and soft duvets and pillows for a pleasant night’s sleep.
All rooms come with a refrigerator, a combined humidifier and air purifier, a safety deposit box, a tea set and electric kettle, slippers and nightwear, and a hair dryer. Bathrooms are fitted with a bathtub and shower, and come supplied with towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a toothbrush and toothpaste. Each room also has a tablet device which can be used as an alarm clock as well as to regulate the lighting and air conditioning.

Breakfast & Dining
A daily buffet breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant from 7.00 to 10.00 with last entry at 9.30. The buffet includes plenty of Western style options such as eggs, bacon, sausage, tea, coffee, juices, freshly baked bread, croissants and English muffins.
There are also plenty of healthy fruit and vegetables, salad items, and local specialties such as tofu, pickled vegetables from Kyoto’s Nishiki Market, green tea, and tea-flavored rice porridge. Breakfast costs 1,620 yen per person.
Hotel Keihan Kyoto Hachijoguchi has a large public bathing area divided by gender with both indoor and outdoor baths as well as a standing rain shower. Soap, shampoo and conditioner are supplied freely in the bathing areas. The changing rooms have individual lockers where you can keep your belongings securely, as well as washbasins and Dyson hair dryers. The public baths are open from 15.00 to 25.00 and 6.00 to 10.00.
Other Facilities and Services
The friendly staff at the reception desk are multilingual and can help with any queries about the hotel or the local area. Check-in is done via a touch panel screen, but reception desk staff are happy to help with this process. Reception staff can also take care of your baggage both before checking in and after checking out. If you wish to have your luggage sent on to your next hotel, this can also be arranged at the reception desk.
There is an “amenity bar” in the lobby where you can pick up extra coffee, tea, skin care products, and toiletries.
There is also a sightseeing information corner in the lobby and a small library of tourist and photography books on Kyoto.
Also on the first floor is a laundry corner with washing machines and dryers, soft drink vending machines, an ice making machine, and a computer which guests can freely use to access the internet.
A laundry service is also available and if you bring your clothes to the reception desk by 10.00 they will be cleaned and ready for you by 16.00 the same day.
A variety of in-room massage services can be arranged upon request.
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available in all the guest rooms and public areas of the hotel.
For security and peace of mind guests are given their own electronic card keys which they can use to access both their guest rooms and the large public bathing area.

Hotel Keihan Kyoto Hachijoguchi is an 8 minute walk south of Kyoto Station’s Hachijoguchi Exit and a 4 minute walk from Kujo Station on the Karasuma Subway Line. Airport bus services to Kansai International Airport and Osaka Itami Airport are also a short walk away. Local attractions such as Toji Temple and Kyoto Tower are both within walking distance from the hotel.
