Hotel Keihan Kyoto Grande

Hotel Keihan Kyoto Grande is a bright, modern facility with friendly staff, elegant interiors, and excellent dining facilities. It is also well positioned for both sightseeing and transport. Located on the south side of Kyoto Station, beside Kyoto Avanti and about one minute on foot from the Hachijo East Exit, the hotel is directly connected to the station by an underground passage.

The hotel is right beside the Avanti shopping mall and so has immediate access to the mall’s retail and restaurant facilities. The underground station connection is useful in bad weather or when traveling with luggage, and the Hachijo side of Kyoto Station is convenient for airport limousine buses to Kansai International Airport and Osaka Itami Airport. The hotel is also well situated for sightseeing at Kyoto Tower, which is an 8 minute walk from the hotel, and Higashi Honganji Temple, which is just 15 minutes away.

Hotel Rooms

All rooms have air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, an air purifier with humidifier, a refrigerator, a TV, an electric kettle, mugs, a safety box, a hair dryer, nightwear, slippers, towels, and standard bathroom amenities. Bathrooms are fully fitted with a bath tub, shower, and toilet. All beds are fitted with the reliable Simmons brand of bedding to ensure a good night’s sleep.

Room choices range from Single and Double rooms to Hollywood Twin, Standard Twin, Moderate Twin, Casual Triple, Casual Fourth, Family, Connecting, Japanese Twin, Garden View Zen, Junior Suite, and Superior Floor rooms. Higher-category rooms add more space and upgraded amenities.

The Garden View Zen room includes a private courtyard with a dry landscape garden of stones and moss set in a symbolic sea of carefully raked sand. The garden is illuminated at night.

Dining Facilities

The restaurant Octavar is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A buffet style breakfast is served each morning from 7.00 till 10.00, with last entry at 9.30, and costs 2,750 yen for adults unless breakfast is included in your booking plan. The breakfast buffet has a range of both Japanese and Western style dishes with plenty of vegetables, freshly baked bread, fish, meat, and eggs. The restaurant’s business hours are as follows:

Breakfast: 7.00 – 10.00 (last entry at 9.30)
Lunch: 11.30 – 15.00 (last orders at 14.30)
Dinner: 17.30 – 22.00 (last orders at 21.30)

Lunch and dinner are closed on Mondays, or on Tuesday when Monday is a public holiday.

Rooftop Barbecue

The rooftop terrace is used seasonally for Urban Earth BBQ Kyoto Ekimae, an outdoor barbecue venue above the hotel. It offers fixed time slots and barbecue plans, with covered all-weather facilities. Details, dates, and prices change by season, so check the latest information before making plans.

Other Facilities

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and in all guest rooms. On the ground floor there is a free space for guests, and the front lobby has a foreign currency exchange machine.

The hotel also has a laundry corner, smoking area, vending machines, an ice machine, courier service, luggage storage, and paid rental PCs. Soft-drink vending machines are located in front of the second-floor restaurant and on odd-numbered guest-room floors except the 13th floor.

Trouser presses, irons, bottle openers, extension cords, phone chargers, and other small items can be borrowed from the front desk, subject to availability.
