Hotel M’s Est Kyoto Station South is an 81-room M’s Hotel property on the south side of Kyoto Station. It is best suited to travelers who want simple, practical rooms within walking distance of the Hachijo Exit, Kyoto Avanti, Aeon Mall Kyoto and the airport limousine bus area. This property previously operated as The Garnet Hotel Kyoto Station, so older booking references and some photos may still use that name.

Hotel M’s Est Kyoto Station South has 81 non-smoking guest rooms in a compact range of double, queen and twin categories. The largest category is the Double Room, with 54 rooms of 14 sq m and one 140 cm bed. The hotel also has 10 Queen Rooms and 3 Superior Queen Rooms, both 17 sq m with one 160 cm bed.

Twin options include 6 Twin Rooms of 18 sq m, 5 Superior Twin Rooms of 20 sq m, 1 Universal Twin Room of 20 sq m, and 2 Deluxe Twin Rooms of 26 sq m. Twin rooms have two 110 cm beds and sleep up to two guests.

Guest rooms include free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a safe, TV, washlet toilet, refrigerator, hair dryer and electric kettle. Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap, bath towels, face towels, bath mat, nightwear, slippers, toothbrush set, brush, cotton buds and cotton pads, razor, deodorizing spray, tea set, mineral water and body towel.

Dining

The hotel does not have an in-house restaurant. Staff can introduce nearby restaurants, and the south side of Kyoto Station has plenty of quick dining choices. More options can be found in Kyoto Avanti shopping mall and in the Kyoto Station building, both within a short walk of the hotel. There is also a convenience store nearby for drinks, snacks and simple meals.

The front desk operates 24 hours, and English, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin are listed as supported languages. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00.

Luggage can be stored free of charge before check-in and after check-out. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. Facilities include paid coin laundry on the 1st floor, vending machines, an ice machine, smoking space, elevator and microwave.

Loan items and shared equipment include a trouser press, iron, ironing board, humidifying air purifier, mobile charger, blanket, nail clippers, thermometer, sewing kit, luggage rack, plug adapter, bottle opener, wine glasses and champagne glasses. The hotel does not have its own parking lot, so guests arriving by car should use nearby parking.

For security, the front entrance is locked from midnight to 6:00. Staying guests can enter during those hours with their room card key.

Location

Hotel M’s Est Kyoto Station South is at 7 Higashikujo Kitakarasumacho, Minami-ku, Kyoto 601-8017. The hotel is about five minutes on foot from JR Kyoto Station’s Hachijo Exit. Kujo Subway Station and the Kyoto Station Hachijoguchi bus stop are also within a short walk.

Toji Temple remains an easy nearby destination on the south side of Kyoto Station, while Kyoto Tower is on the north side of the station. The nearest shopping options include Kyoto Avanti, Aeon Mall Kyoto, and the shops inside Kyoto Station. Kyoto Cycling Tour Project also has a branch close to the hotel if you would like to explore the area by bicycle.
