22 PIECES is a small, stylish self-catering studio hotel on the south side of Kyoto Station. It has 22 spacious studio rooms with kitchens, making it a good fit for couples, friends, and small families who want more room and cooking facilities close to the station.

The hotel is on a quiet residential street about 4 minutes on foot from Kyoto Station’s Hachijo West Exit. Its appeal is practical: larger studio-style rooms, self-catering facilities, station access, and a more relaxed atmosphere than a standard business hotel.

Guest Rooms

22 PIECES has 22 studio-style guest rooms. Rooms are 34-36 sq m and are designed for 2 to 4 guests. All rooms are non-smoking and have free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a TV, refrigerator, kettle, microwave, safe, humidifier, air purifier, mineral water, clothes hangers, slippers, electrical outlets, and an independent washbasin.

There are four current room types.

  • Studio with Terrace is a 34 sq m room with a 5 sq m terrace.
  • Studio with Loft Bed is a 36 sq m room with a raised sleeping area.
  • Studio with Living is a 34 sq m room with a small balcony.
  • Studio with Dining is a 36 sq m room with a larger dining area.

Bathrooms include a shower and bath, bath towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, toothbrush set, and hairdryer. Toilets have warm-water bidet functions.

Self-catering

Breakfast and room service are not provided at 22 PIECES, but each room has a kitchen for simple self-catering. Rooms include a refrigerator, kettle, microwave, sink, and cooking facilities, so the hotel works well for guests who want to prepare light meals or keep food and drinks in the room.

Everyday groceries can be purchased at the supermarket in the nearby Aeon Mall. There are also convenience stores around the south side of Kyoto Station. For other meals, the Kyoto Station building, Aeon Mall, and Kyoto Avanti all have restaurants and cafes.

Check-in is from 16:00 to 23:00, and check-out is by 11:00. Accepted credit cards include Visa, MasterCard, JCB and American Express.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building and in the lobby. The hotel offers luggage storage, bicycle rental, phone chargers, a microwave oven, and irons/ironing boards. 22 PIECES also offers a selection of special rental items for guests, but specific items may change, so ask at reception if you need something particular.

The hotel does not have its own parking lot. Guests arriving by car should use nearby coin parking, and no hotel discount is provided.

22 PIECES is about 4 minutes on foot from Kyoto Station’s Hachijo West Exit, on the south side of the station. At Kyoto Station, guests can access JR lines, the Shinkansen, local rail, subway, taxi and bus services.

For airport access, Kyoto Station is about 75 minutes from Kansai International Airport by JR Limited Express Haruka, or about 90 minutes by limousine bus. From Osaka Itami Airport, the limousine bus to Kyoto Station takes about 60 minutes.

This area is convenient for shopping and dining at Aeon Mall, Kyoto Avanti, and the Kyoto Station building. Popular sightseeing locations such as Toji Temple, Kyoto Tower, and Higashi Honganji Temple are also reachable from the station area.

22 PIECES is part of the Piece Hotel group, whose Kyoto properties also include Piece Hostel Kyoto, Piece Hostel Sanjo, 20 PIECES and TUNE STAY KYOTO. Travelers who prefer budget hostel-style accommodation can compare it with Piece Hostel Kyoto, which is also close to Kyoto Station.
