Keihan Holdings will open a new luxury hotel on the north side of Kyoto Station in January 2019. Called “The Thousand Kyoto”, the new hotel is being built on the site of the former Kyoto Dai-Ni Tower Hotel (which closed in 2016), and it will be connected on its lower levels with the neighboring Kyoto Century Hotel.

The Thousand Kyoto will have a total floor space of 22,063 sqm and 222 guest rooms. Room interiors are designed to be comfortable but with a modern, minimalist style.

Guest rooms will have all the modern comforts and just a hint of Zen design
Among the hotel’s facilities will be an Italian and Japanese restaurant, both featuring open kitchens and making ample use of local ingredients. There will also be a café and bar where guests can enjoy tea or sake from Kyoto area, as well as other beverages.

On the 3rd floor there will be a chapel and garden and on the 2nd and 3rd floors there will be a spa where guests can enjoy massage treatments, warm pool bathing, a rock spa and a sauna.
